Dudley Business Showcase highlights support for local firms

The Dudley Business Showcase, held at the Black Country Living Museum last month, was a fantastic evening, uniting local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and industry experts to celebrate success and exchange valuable insights.

Our engaging panel discussion, featuring Mark Jones MBA, Debra Glover, Claire Hogan, Brody Swain, and Donna Watkins, explored the impact of the Business Growth West Midlands in Dudley programme and the support available to businesses in the borough.

One of the standout moments of the night was local entrepreneur Maxine Sault sharing her incredible business journey. Maxine has built two successful businesses in spite of extreme challenges, including a devastating warehouse fire that caused £750,000 in damage.

She has developed Toys 4 Life Recycling into the UK’s leading toy recycling initiative, saving millions of toys from landfill and redistributing them worldwide.

We also heard from the Dudley Start Up programme on the support they provide, alongside an insightful perspective from Paul Mountford, Head of Economic Growth and Skills at Dudley Council.

With more than 600 SMEs already benefiting from BGWM in Dudley since 2023, the event highlighted just how much support is available to help businesses in Dudley borough to grow and thrive.
