About the Enterprise Zone

DY5, Dudley's Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone is based in the borough's strategic centre of Brierley Hill. It aims to be the high tech office hub of the Black Country, connecting advanced manufacturing to industrial sites via a new sustainable Metro link.

The EZ will reinforce Dudley as a location of choice for business and innovation with low cost and high quality office space connected to the regional infrastructure. It will look at how the manufacturing and technology of the region can help deliver new business, as well as broaden its digital and professional base into existing manufacturing technology.

The high tech office hub of the Black Country will create 7,000 new jobs over 25 years and was offically launched in April 2017.

Dudley is well connected to the regional infrastructure and the plans for the metro will put Dudley on the national and international map as a great place to do business.

 

The new Metro line is planned to connect the EZ to a new Garden Village (housing development) at Stourbridge and Lye

The metro line will also connect to i54, HS2, Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham City Centre.
