Rate relief opportunities for businesses at Waterfront Enterprise Zone

As businesses begin to plan a return to the workplace, Dudley Council’s economic development team are reminding companies of high-quality office, industrial and retail spaces available in the borough which benefit from business rate relief.

Businesses that locate to the DY5 Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone could benefit from up to £55,000 rate relief each year for five years.

The Waterfront Business Park offers over 500,000 Sq. Ft. of modern, open plan offices with extensive car parking and excellent security alongside an attractive waterfront location in the heart of Brierley Hill. Offices are available ranging from 250 - 30,000 square foot surrounded by a full range of facilities including a hotel, bars and restaurants overlooking the canal.

Over recent years there have been considerable infrastructure improvements around The Waterfront complex, particularly relating to the road network. This will culminate in the extension of the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension, with a new Metro station being located at The Waterfront, giving access to Birmingham city centre and the national railway network.

As well as office space, the Waterfront also offers excellent retail space for restaurants and retail businesses and is less than a five minute walk away from Merry Hill Shopping Centre, a major retail destination in the region.

There’s also industrial opportunities at the popular Pensnett Trading Estate as well as the newly built Dreadnought Business Park. Both locations are part of the Dudley Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone benefitting from reduced business rates and are suitable for light industrial, storage and distribution. Spaces range from 7,500 – 20,000 square foot. Further Build to Suit options up to 21,750 square foot are also available to suit specific occupiers’ requirements.
