Planning for the future of the Black Country

23 Sep 2021

The draft Black Country Plan 2039 is a document which plans for future development of the area. This is now being consulted on by the four Black Country councils – Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

This means you can now have your say on how we shape the future of the Black Country to 2039.

The government projects that the Black Country will need just over 76,000 new homes over the next 20 years. To support this growth, we also need 560 hectares of land to accommodate new jobs by 2039. This is equivalent to 835 football fields.

The consultation gives people the chance to have their say on the proposed sites for development and where they think new development should be in the Black Country.

It’s really important people have their say before the consultation closes on 11 October. Don’t miss your chance!
