New fund opens up for businesses

Cash sums of up to £2,000 are being offered to businesses across Dudley borough that have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic in the latest financial lifeline.
The additional restrictions grant is an additional support package aimed at some businesses that were not eligible for money in other support packages.
It is the latest financial package coming from the council as it works to support businesses hit by the restrictions introduced nationally to tackle the pandemic.
It could include non-essential retailers who pay business rates to a landlord, a mobile hairdresser, a commercial caterer, or other businesses that supply the majority of their goods and services into the retail, hospitality or leisure industry.
Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for finance, said:
"We know that businesses have been hit hard by this pandemic, with more hardship to follow with the latest restrictions. But we have tried to make sure that there is a steady flow of financial packages for people who need it.
"Through this latest round of funding we hope to pick up some of those businesses that were not eligible for previous pots of money and I would urge them to come forward to see if they are eligible.
"We will continue to do all we can to support businesses through these unprecedented times."
