DY5 set to open the doors for potential investors

29 Oct 2018

Businesses can find out more about the huge benefits of being part of the DY5 Enterprise Zone over breakfast next month.

Anyone from a business that has ambitions to expand, to relocate or are just in the process of starting up are invited to attend a DY5 open house breakfast session.

The event, organised by Dudley Council’s Dudley Business First service, will take place on Thursday November 15 from 7.30 to 9.30am at the Brierley Hop House on Level Street.

DY5, Dudley’s Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone offers high quality affordable office space. This event is ideal for anyone wishing to discover more about the plans for the area and how doing business here can be of benefit to them.

It is specifically tailored for businesses that are looking for high quality and affordable office space, which can be found on the Waterfront, the heart of DY5, Dudley’s Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone.

The Waterfront area of the enterprise zone is growing in confidence since its launch in early 2017, with a number of businesses moving into the existing office accommodation including Prosperity Wealth and IPG Retail

People can have an informal chat with the Dudley Business First team about what benefits a move to the enterprise zone could offer them, including business rate relief of up to £55,000 per year for five years.

They can also go on a tour of the office space currently available on the Waterfront and potentially find the right location for their business.

Councillor Keiran Casey, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise said:

"The DY5 Enterprise Zone provides fantastic opportunities for local businesses and we want to continue ensuring this goes from strength to strength, encompassing a range of business sectors.
We recognise the importance of identifying the right location for business to flourish. That is why we are so pleased with what the zone can offer to occupiers. The benefits, including the improved connectivity when the Metro rolls in, matched with the comprehensive support services that Dudley Business First provides, enhances the attractiveness of doing business here.
This session is designed to inform people of the plans for the zone, and identify how locating here will benefit their businesses greatly. People will also be able to see for themselves the quality of the accommodation on offer.
With the plans we have to make our borough a centre of excellence for business and the benefits of being on the DY5 Enterprise Zone, there really couldn’t be a better time to join DY5 and be part of the success story in Dudley.”

Tom Westley, Black Country LEP Board Member said:

"The Black Country is home to three successful Enterprise Zones including DY5, Dudley’s Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone.
I’d urge businesses from the borough and beyond to come along to this event, meet the team and find out first-hand the many benefits available to them if they relocate to DY5.”

The session is free to attend but people should confirm their attendance in advance at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/dy5-open-house-breakfast-session-tickets-51545059661

DY5, Dudley’s Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone launched in the early part of 2017 and is based in the borough’s strategic centre of Brierley Hill.

It aims to rejuvenate the Waterfront office complex at Merry Hill and create additional office, technology and industrial space in the surrounding areas of Brierley Hill, Harts Hill and Pensnett. It is expected to deliver up to 7,000 new jobs and uplift the economy by £589million each year.
