Dudley reveals huge plans for international property showcase

Invest Dudley has outlined its intentions to showcase an extensive range of investment and development opportunities available in the area, at MIPIM 2020.
MIPIM (Marché International des Professionnels de L’immobilier) is the world’s leading international property and construction event, held annually in Cannes, France every March.
Invest Dudley (the inward investment arm of Dudley Council) has teamed up with private land owners, to go to MIPIM in search of companies that might be interested in regeneration and development opportunities in the area.
As a centrally-located area with excellent transport links to the whole of the UK, Dudley is a prime area that could be very attractive to developers looking for cost-effective places to invest.
The region is benefiting from many positive changes including an Enterprise Zones offering low business rates and immediate high-quality office accommodation at very competitive prices; industrial sites available for development; as well as the planned extension to the Midland Metro link which is predicted to bring up to 30 per cent more permanent jobs into the local area.
Councillor Patrick Harley (pictured left), leader of Dudley Council, said:
“Dudley is an area which is on the cusp of becoming a real investment hotspot. The Midlands Metro extension is set to transform our economy and will bring new houses, jobs and leisure opportunities that will all have a massive impact.
“We have been working closely with private land owners to identify several fantastic, ready-to-go development opportunities and we will be making a huge announcement at MIPIM that is really destined to put Dudley on the map.
“The time is now for Dudley: it is an area with massive potential that is ripe for development. We are keen to talk to the right people show them what Dudley has to offer - and the best place to do this is at MIPIM where there is a prime targeted audience.”
As well as being part of the wider Midlands UK activities at MIPIM, for the first time, Dudley has also taken its own exhibition stand in the main ‘Palais des Festivals’ exhibition zone. The stand (number P-1.C 2) will be Invest Dudley’s main base for the four days of MIPIM, where there will be a showcase of the ‘shovel-ready’ opportunities available and senior staff will be on-hand to speak to interested parties.
