Dudley Council is just the business

Dudley Council has proved it’s on the money after being highly commended for its commitment to helping small businesses survive and prosper in Dudley borough.

The council’s Procurement Service impressed judges for a recent Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Staffordshire and West Midlands awards event.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for procurement, transformation and commercialisation, said:

"We are delighted to have received this commendation, which recognises the passion and commitment we have towards helping small businesses to thrive.
I would like offer my personal congratulations and thanks to the officers behind this work. They have worked tirelessly to reach out and work with small businesses here in Dudley borough, demonstrating that the council is open for business."

Karen Woolley, Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Development Manager, said:

"FSB’s Local Authority Small Business Friendly Awards is an annual awards process through which we look to highlight the great work being undertaken by our local authorities on behalf of small businesses across their patch.
We were delighted to award Dudley Council’ with a ‘Highly Commended’ in our Best Small Business Friendly Procurement Policy category for the great strides they have made over the last year in supporting local small firms to enter the supply chain.
Through delivering these awards over the past eight years, we can confidently say that we are both pleased and proud to be in partnership with Dudley Council.
