Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF) and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund (RHLGF)
In response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the government has recently announced two grants to assist businesses.
These grants are available to small businesses and those businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors:
- A grant of £10,000 for most businesses with a Rateable Value (RV) of up to £15,000
- Grants of £25,000 for businesses in retail, leisure and hospitality with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000.
Dudley Council officers are working hard to identify businesses that qualify for this money.
If you believe you may be entitled to either of the above grants, please complete the Business Rates Grant Proforma document Business Rates Grant online form here.
Full details on the grant funding can be found here.
Discretionary Grants Fund
Small businesses can now access cash grants to help tackle the impact of coronavirus as part of a £2.2million fund.
Grants from the new Discretionary Grant Fund will be for £2,000, £5,000 or £10,000 based on the type and size of the business, but these amounts may need to be reduced depending on the volume of demand. The fund will support businesses that have suffered a significant fall in income as a result of coronavirus and have relatively high on-going fixed property costs.
Criteria for the discretionary grants is based on guidance provided by the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy.
It is the latest wave of financial help following millions of pounds which was given out to thousands of businesses in recent weeks.
Small businesses will have to fill out an online form before eligibility is checked and then funding is allocated.
